Born to Nigerian parents on the 8th of June 1995, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji popularly known as Mohbad is a Nigerian rapper and singer who is a fast-rising artiste and one of the most promising musician in the Nigerian music industry.

EARLY LIFE

Mohbad was born to Nigerian parents in the Ketu area of Lagos state, Nigeria. Born to a christian family, Mohbad was raised in the christian faith. He started his primary and secondary education in a private school in Lagos before moving to Plateau state where he studied Business Management in the University of Jos. While in secondary school, he became popular for performing freestyle raps during leisure time and at school parties.

MUSIC CAREER

While in secondary school, he became popular for performing freestyle raps during leisure time and at school parties. He gained prominence on Instagram for posting music covers to some popular Nigerian songs as well as his music skits.
In 2016, he decided to pursue his music career professionally and adopted the nickname “Mohbad”. In 2019, Mohbad released singles like “Mi O Fo”, “Balan Zia Gar”, “Aje” and “Freesyle”. He featured Oladips on the track “Oja”, he featured &
Updateboyz, Dope Sticks and Jerry Clef on “Neon” and also Lil Frosh and C Blvck on the song “Owoale”.
In December 2019, Mohbad rose to fame when he got signed to “Marlian Records” along side new acts like Fabian Blu, C Blvck and Zinoleeeky. In 2020, Mohbad collaborated with popular hit-maker Rexxie to produce the hit song “KPK (Ko Po Ke)”. The song song became viral and received a lot of airplays from Nigerian radio stations. It also topped some of the afrobeat and hip hop charts in Nigeria. Mohbad has since gone on to release other hit tracks which includes “Feel Good” which has over 4 million views on YouTube, “Komajensun” in which he featured Naira Marley and “Ponmo Sweet” in which he featured both Naira Marley and Lil Kesh.

CONTROVERSY

On the 24th of October 2022, Mohbad alongside record label act Zinoleeeky and four others were arrested by operatives of the Nation Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on account of possession of Cannabis sativa and Molly. Following his release, Mohbad claimed on an Instagram live video that members of his record label Marlian Records and his record label boss Naira Marley want to kill him.
